Kilip & The Moon Princess - Concept Art

This is my work from a group project in college.

Based off of a folklore from the Dayak Benuaq tribe in East Borneo, Indonesia. Popularly known as "Kilip and The Moon Princess". Though the original story is significantly different than the popular version, the story is built from the beliefs of the Dayak Benuaq tribe that a Lunar Eclipse happens when a giant monster eats the moon to absorb its powers. The eclipse ends when a boy named Kilip plays his musical instrument 'sampek' and it hurts the moon-eating monster, forcing him to spit the moon back out.
